Piet MONDRIAN
Painter - Minimalism
Piet Mondrian painted all his life. Very young he was painting along the river Gein and around the landscapes of the Achterhoek region in the Netherlands, making the landscapes his main painting subjects, which will remain all his life. Constantly looking for new forms of visual expressions, Mondrian will experiment the Cubism, Fauvism, and Pointillism and from 1917, he will theorize a "New Plastic in Painting" made of "lines and color combinations". He will put these visions into practice through the creation of a series of "Compositions" which revolutionized art.
This virtual gallery gathers 12 different works painted by Mondrian following his idea of a "new plastic in painting" and created from 1921 to his death in 1944.
